Making every contact count (MECC) is an approach to behaviour change that utilises the millions of day to day interactions that organisations and people have with other people to encourage changes in behaviour that have a positive effect on the health and wellbeing of individuals, communities and populations.

South West MECC received funding from Health Education England to implement a comprehensive train the trainer programme across the whole region.

There is now a network of trainers working across local authority and NHS organisations, providing a sustainable approach to training the workforce on how to embed MECC within their organisations, and as part of their day to day practice working with members of the public.
